Our new programming, Environmental Education on the Erie Canal (E3C),  positions the canal and river as resources for E-STEAM (Environmental – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) education. Developed in partnership with St. John Fisher College, Monroe BOCES, Delta Environmental and the Seneca Park Zoo, the program is supported in-part by a grant from the Farash Foundation as well as a generous grant from the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor. E3C will engage students in experiential learning activities aboard CHN’s Sam Patch replica Erie Canal packet boat with the goal of fostering greater knowledge, appreciation, and stewardship of the natural resources of the Erie Canal System, including the Genesee River.
